Inspired by States of Cadence, Adarna chose coral reefs as her subject matter. She used materials such as acrylic, and her own secret concoction of fluid to pour the medium on canvas, to capture the movement of life deep within the ocean— making her canvas dance and the paint sing. Everything is captured in the spontaneous movement of the fluid paint as it meets the canvas. There is no going back and correcting when painting with fluid paint. It captures its own image at that moment in time.
